Turks heads Are the most common decorative knot in terms of traditional marlinespike seamanship. The turks head is Actually a class of knots which can be made around a cylinder or flat like a mat. They are classified by the number of Loops along the edge and by the number of strands it Appears to have in the weave. They are made of a single continuous line (3 strands for 2 colors) but look like An endless weave of multiple strands.
